Lip Sync Project

For the one day lip sync project I worked with Dave, Gemma and Lauren in a group effort to produce a lip sync video to the track "Can't Smile Without You" by Barry Manilow. At first we had problems transfering the song onto some kind of device for us to listen to it out on location, costing us 2 hours of recording time and causing us to be the last group to leave for filming. However, this gave us time to brain storm some ideas for the video and how to adapt it to fit in with the song's storyline.

In the end we chose to approach the video from a humourous standpoint, having me and Dave star as the main characters who were in a relationship, with Dave at the college and me at the park and our journey to get to each other. I think that this worked really well, except for the occassional dodgey lip syncing from Dave due to him not being familiar with the song. The video would of been better if we'd had known the song before hand but despite the lip syncing the video worked well.

Appart from some minor errors with batch capturing, the editing went smoothly and we managed to finish the project not only on time but managed to be the first group to finish, even though we were the last group to go out to record the footage. I think that by having limited time we chose to simplify the video rather than overcomplicate it like some of the other groups attempted to.

Personally I think that the Lip sync project went very well. The overall production and editing was quick and easy to do, as shown by the fact that even though we had 2 hours less than many of the other groups, due to trouble aquiring the music for our lip sync. I'm pleased with the video.
